We believe tourism should create opportunities for the people and communities that make Pakistan special. Toura Foundation supports education, scholarships, women, youth, local livelihoods and environmental responsibility, with a strong focus on Gilgit-Baltistan.
Toura Foundation is a community-focused foundation established around the idea that tourism can create positive and practical opportunities for people and places across Pakistan.
Our work is closely connected to the responsible tourism approach of Adventure Touristik, but Toura Foundation has its own social purpose: supporting education, community development, women's economic participation, youth activities, local livelihoods and environmental responsibility.
We begin with communities where our connection is strongest, particularly in Gilgit-Baltistan and Hunza, while working toward a long-term vision of expanding meaningful initiatives across Pakistan.
Our mission is to use the positive potential of tourism to support education, strengthen local livelihoods, empower women and young people, promote equal opportunity, protect natural environments and help communities participate more meaningfully in Pakistan's tourism economy.
We envision a Pakistan where children can access education, women can build sustainable economic opportunities, young people can participate in sports and community activities, local producers can reach wider markets, local tourism professionals can benefit from visitors, and Pakistan's mountains, culture and natural heritage are respected and protected.
Our programs connect tourism with education, community opportunity, women's empowerment, youth development, local markets and environmental responsibility.
We support students in Pakistan who face financial barriers to education. Our current scholarship work supports 50 beneficiaries at Uswa Public School and College in Ganesh, Hunza.
We support women in Hunza by helping them understand product development, local branding, presentation and opportunities to connect their products with visitors and international markets.
We promote sports and community activities for young people and encourage participation by both males and females without discrimination.
We connect international travelers with local markets, producers and artisans so visitors can discover and purchase products directly from their sources.
We take practical environmental initiatives during trekking and mountain activities, including efforts to collect solid waste from mountain areas and encourage responsible travel.
We engage local guides, porters, drivers, professionals, suppliers and other community-based tourism workers wherever appropriate.
Education can open opportunities that remain inaccessible when families cannot afford school expenses.
Toura Foundation currently supports students whose families face financial difficulties, with our existing scholarship initiative benefiting 50 students at Uswa Public School and College in Ganesh, Hunza.
